  • Analysis in this report was undertaken as a service to members of the US Council of the Mexico-US Business Committee. It is based on the Oct. 7 initialed text of the Agreement, official advisory committee reports, and conversations with negotiators and US Council members familiar with the negotiations. Concludes that the NAFTA agreement will strengthen the economies of the US, Mexico, and Canada and by drawing on the unique resources of each will ultimately strengthen the regional economy. In addition, the NAFTA negotiations complement the work underway in the GATT Uruguay Round.
