- Paper examines extent to which Canadian and Mexican dependence on the US increased during World War II and the extent to which economic activity in Canada and Mexico either paralleled that in the US or was influenced by government decisions in Washington. Examples relating to foreign trade, import substituting industrialization, prices, and infrastructure development in Mexico and Canada are used to show Washington's expanded wartime role.
